1:00-5:00 When Things Don’t Go As Planned
Part 1 – Supporting the Client to Avoid
Trauma –
•Prenatal preparation
•dealing with hospital staff in the moment
•dealing with difficult family issues
•processing negative experiences
postpartum
•providing appropriate postpartum support
Part 2 – Supporting the Doula to Avoid
Burnout –
•Supporting long and/or complicated births
•addressing feelings of helplessness
•recognizing when we’ve been traumatized
•processing and releasing after a
difficult birth
Doulas do not
need to be certified to attend. It is recommended that participants
have attended a birth doula workshop, or already work in the birth support
field.
The fee for the
