I have been helping families encapsulate their placentas for over six years.  While there is no 'hard' research proving the benefits of placenta encapsulation (yet), the reported benefits from women who have taken their encapsulated placenta are many - improved milk supply, more balanced moods, reduced anxiety, increased energy, and support during times of separation from baby or major changes.  I follow a Traditional Chinese Medicine 'recipe' when encapsulating the placenta for the mother's use (see below for details).  This method of preparation retains some of the nutrients and hormones present in the placenta at the time of birth - to help the mother with her postpartum transition - and preserve the energetic qualities of the life-sustaining placenta.

I can also make a homeopathic placenta tincture for use by the baby.  This homeopathic remedy will be the baby's 'constitutional remedy' for its entire lifetime, providing balance when it is needed and a remedy for ailments when one doesn't already exist.  Because the placenta contains stem cells, it will also support the baby's immune system.

Both the encapsulation and homeopathic preparations may be done from the same placenta.  You can also make placenta prints (beautiful artwork) prior to preparing the placenta.

For more information on the many uses of the placenta, its properties, these processes, or my services, please contact me via email.

Placenta Encapsulation Process

It is ideal for your placenta to be encapsulated within 3 days after birth.  If this is not possible, your placenta should be frozen as soon after birth as possible, then it can be thawed and prepared at any time after that.

The preparation involves two parts:  Part 1 -  I bless your placenta and give thanks for the work it has done and will continue to do, then prepare it for steaming, along with lemon, ginger and jalapeno.   Then I slice it very thin and spread the strips on a foil-lined cookie sheet.  It is then baked in an oven on the very lowest setting possible, or in a food dehydrator, for about 8 hours.   Part 2 - the dried strips are ground in an electric grinder.  The fine powder is then put into the gel caps, and the capsules are stored in a jar.

My fee for the Placenta Encapsulation is $175.

I am always willing to discuss discounts or trades, so please don't let cost be a barrier if you would like this service!

Homeopathic Placenta Preparation

This process involves soaking a small piece of the placenta in alcohol (brandy, whisky, or vodka) for a few weeks to create the Placenta Essence.  From that, the Mother Tincture is created, and then successively shaking and diluting the Mother Tincture to create a 6C tincture that can be given in drops to the baby or child.

I typically use organic vodka for this process, and provide the Placenta Essence, Mother Tincture,  and 6C tincture in glass bottles with a dropper.  My fee for this services is $100.
