This is an on-line discussion forum called Big Belly Services Meeting Place. The Meeting Place is intended to provide a forum for my past and present students, clients, and site visitors to discuss issues pertinent to pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, postpartum, infant care, and parenting. I have created this site so that you may ask questions of each other, share ideas, offer support and information, and connect with other like-minded parents. It's also a nice way for my class-mates to stay in touch! Parenting can be a very isolating experience for some, especially if you don't make the same choices as most mainstream Americans, so I hope you will find much support, encouragement and friendship in this area.
At this time, I am not asking people to register to use the Meeting Place. You will not have a user ID automatically assigned to messages you post or reply to, so you will need to fill in the From field (first name and last initial, or a 'handle', should suffice) when you post.
The Meeting Place is not moderated as I am not able to supervise the forum on a daily basis. Therefore, I expect the visitors to play nicely together - the standard rules of discussion group etiquette apply. No insults, name-calling, personal attacks, etc. Open minds and respect are required. I will check in on an infrequent basis to see how all is going. If you have any questions you'd like me to address specifically, and I haven't responded via the Meeting Place, please contact me via email.
